Welcome to the Lowcountry Emmaus Community of South Carolina!
Community Members:
The currently-proposed amendments to the By-laws are
here.
There is an overview of the amendments in the December newsletter, but the
"strike-out" style text doesn't display properly there.
Download an application.
Applications are being accepted for the 2010 men's and women's walks.
The men's walk will be April 15-18, 2010, and the women's walk will be April 29-May 2, 2010.
Walks are held at
Camp Summers and Manget
[map] in Cameron,
South Carolina.
Sendoff and Closing are held at
Jericho United Methodist Church
[map] just east of Cameron. Sendoff is at 6:30 PM on Thursday evening. Closing is at 4:30 PM on Sunday.
(Sendoff and closing services are for community members and current walk participants only.)
Community members are also invited to the candlelight service on Saturday during the walks at 8:00 PM
to pray for all those who are taking part on the weekend. The candlelight service is at
Providence United Methodist Church
[map] on US 176 less than two miles west of I-95.
There is no child care at sendoff, closing, or the candlelight service.
Please arrange for someone to care for your children at home when attending these events.
Gatherings:
Gatherings, open to everyone, are held on the third Friday of each
month, except when this would conflict with Walk schedules or when
Good Friday falls on a third Friday. The Gathering normally begins at
7:30 P.M. with a time of worship, including singing, a Fourth Day
speaker, and Holy Communion. A time for fellowship and refreshments
follows. Child care is provided during worship.
The Gathering immediately following each set of Walks begins with a meal
at 6:30 P.M., followed by worship.
