Walks:

To attend a walk, you will need to have a sponsor who has previously attended. If you are interested in attending and don't know anyone who might sponsor you, contact any member of the board (listed in the newsletter), and we will help you get in touch with someone from your church or your community who can help you.

Sponsors: You can download an application to sponsor a pilgrim on an upcoming walk.

Our next walk weekends are the Men's Walk March 19-22, 2020, and the Women's Walk March 26-29, 2020.

Walks are held at Camp Summers and Manget [map] in Cameron, South Carolina.

Sendoff and Closing are held at Jericho United Methodist Church [map] just east of Cameron. Sendoff is at 6:30 PM on Thursday evening. Closing is at 4:30 PM on Sunday. (Sendoff and closing services are for community members and current walk participants only.)

Community members are also invited to the candlelight service on Saturday during the walks at 8:00 PM to pray for all those who are taking part on the weekend. The candlelight service is at Providence United Methodist Church [map] on US 176 less than two miles west of I-95.

There is no child care at sendoff, closing, or the candlelight service. Please arrange for someone to care for your children at home when attending these events.

Gatherings:

Gatherings, open to everyone, are held monthly on the third Friday except when this would conflict with Walk schedules or Easter weekend. The Gathering begins at 6:00 P.M. with refreshments followed at 7:00 P.M. by a time of worship with singing, a Fourth Day speaker, and Holy Communion. Child care is provided during worship.

The Gathering immediately following each set of Walks begins with a meal at 6:00 P.M., followed by worship.

The June Gathering this year will be a special Saturday "Gathering at the Camp" where the walks are held. We will meet at 11:00 AM and eat lunch at noon, followed by a time for worship.

Upcoming Gathering locations:

Getting to the Camp:

Please note that Church Camp Road is still closed between SC 33 and the camp. You will need to come from the other end of Church Camp Road. Don't let Google or Mapquest send you via the unpaved Dwight Swamp Road. Here are directions from I-26 and from US 176:

I-26: Take exit 149 (Hwy 33) toward Cameron, SC. Go 2 miles, then left on Shulmer Rd. Go 2½ miles to stop sign; take right on Church Camp Rd. Go approx. 1 mile, and camp is on left. There may be a sign advising road closed, but it's closed beyond the camp, so it's OK.

US 176 from east: Follow US 176 N approximately 3 miles past SC Hwy 33, take left on Belleville Rd. Go almost 3 miles, then left on Church Camp Rd. Go Approx. 2 miles, and camp is on left. There may be a sign advising road closed, but it's closed beyond the camp, so it's OK.

US 176 from west: Follow US 176 S approximately 8 miles from US Hwy 601, then right on Belleville Rd. Go almost 3 miles, then left on Church Camp Rd. Go approx. 2 miles, and camp is on left. There may be a sign advising road closed, but it's closed beyond the camp, so it's OK.
